Essomio

About Essomio

We built Essomio because existing health apps chart your data — and then leave you to figure out what it means. We think the app should do that work.

The origin story

The idea came from a personal frustration: tracking nutrition, weight, workouts, and wearable data across four separate apps, none of which talked to each other, and none of which could explain why the scale jumped 2.5 lbs on a Tuesday after a weekend of eating well.

The answer turned out to be obvious in retrospect — sodium from a batch of brined chicken, combined with lower-than-usual step count, had driven water retention consistent with a pattern that had shown up a dozen times before. But no app connected those dots. Each one sat in its own silo, doing its own thing.

“MacroFactor smooths the scale noise beautifully. Whoop scores my recovery. Apple Health holds all the data. None of them explain what is actually happening in language I can act on. That sentence — the one that says ‘here is why, sourced from your own data’ — doesn't exist anywhere yet.”

Essomio is the attempt to write that sentence, automatically, for every user, every day.

What the name means

Essomio comes from the Italian esso mio — “it is mine.” The organizing principle of the product is that every user's health data, body, and goals are uniquely their own. Not population averages. Not generalized recommendations. Your pattern. Your explanation.

The mission

We want to close the gap between the raw data your devices and apps generate and the understanding you actually need to make good decisions about your health. That means:

Where we are

Essomio is in active development, currently in closed beta on iOS and Android. The backend foundation, authentication, nutrition and workout tracking, and the core analysis engine are built and tested. We are working toward a public launch.
